Among the things taken for granted by native-born Minnesotans:
A) Never eat the last bar on the plate,
B) Always dress in layers, and
C) It is unbecoming to talk too much about yourself.
On that last point, talking about oneself can only lead to boasting. Just do your work, and if it is of some value, others will notice. If you must promote it, it probably isn't very good.
But here we are in an age where any web site dedicated to the work of a single person seems to require a page "About" that person. This is a place where boasting is essentially the entire task, and where the best possible outcome is to draw attention straight to oneself. Indeed, the firehose of ideas that is the modern web means that even work of value can easily disappear unnoticed.
Out of the respect for curiosity, and in yielding to the norms of the age, I offer a few things. (coming soonish)
