Down every night where the cats all play

They rock and roll in a different way

There's just one cat that'll set 'em movin'

And just one song that'll start 'em groovin'

Rockin' Rex, the coolest cat in town

Their feet are tapping whenever that kid / he's around

He plays the music in a different way

And all the kitties come around to say

"Rockin' Rex, don't you ever go away."

But one night as he started to play

Rockin' Rex looked down off the stage

There he saw much to his surprise

A pair of super sexy female eyes

Rockin' Rex, the coolest cat in town

Their feet are tapping whenever that he's around

He plays the music in a different way

And all the kitties come around to say

"Rockin' Rex, don't you ever go away."

That very night when old Rex was done

He found that girl, said, "Let's have some fun."

She said, "No way, I need a wedding ring."

He said, "You're joking," and he started to sing

I'm Rockin' Rex, the coolest cat in town

Their feet are tapping whenever I'm around

I play the music in a different way

And all the kitties come around to say

"Rockin' Rex, don't you ever go away."

Today old Rex he sings a different tune

He just got back from his honeymoon

He doesn't chase the kitties anymore

But he's still rockin' till they scream for more

Rockin' Rex, the coolest cat in town

Their feet are tapping whenever that kid's around

He plays the music in a different way

And all the kitties come around to say

"Rockin' Rex, don't you ever go away."
